Brock University graduate student thesis defences are scheduled for next week. The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, June 8 and Friday, June 12.
Master of Science in Biological Sciences thesis defence
Marcus Elbert Villena, a Master of Science candidate, will defend the thesis “Graph Attention Mechanisms for Modeling Pathway-Level Importance from Gene Expression” on Monday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in WH 147.
The examination committee includes Jeff Stuart, Chair; Yifeng Li, Supervisor; Xiaojian Shao, External Examiner (National Research Council); and Tony Yan and Adonis Skandalis, Supervisory Committee Members.
Master of Arts in Psychology thesis defence
Haley McStravick, a Master of Arts in Psychology candidate, will defend the thesis “Social Evaluations of Children’s Procrastination” on Monday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to noon in PLZ 600F.

Master of Arts in Psychology thesis defence
Mirella Rocca, a Master of Arts in Psychology candidate, will defend the thesis “The Development of Spontaneous Episodic Future Thinking in Young Children” on Thursday, June 11 from 10 a.m. to noon in PLZ 600F.

Allayna Barrett, a Master of Arts in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “A Qualitative Exploration of Meaning in the lives of Niagara Young People & its Implications for Mental Health and Health Equity” on Friday, June 12 from 9 a.m. to noon in STH 361.
