Brock University is now one of the Project Management Institute in Canada’s Authorized Training Partners, providing a pathway for learners to earn a micro-credential and the required professional development hours to sit the Project Management Professional certification exam.Professionals looking to level up their project management qualifications have a new pathway to success through Brock University’s recently launched Project Management Professional (PMP) Exam Prep micro-credential.
Offered through Brock Professional and Continuing Studies (Brock PCS), the micro-credential provides those who complete the program the contact hours required to sit the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) PMP Certification Exam.
In addition to earning the professional development units required and the guided training on how to take the PMP exam, learners will also earn a Brock micro-credential that will be issued as a digital badge through MyCreds.
“Organizations across many sectors rely on strong project management to successfully deliver complex initiatives,” said Barb Mercer, Associate Director of Programming for Professional and Continuing Studies at Brock University. “Earning the PMP designation is one of the most recognized credentials in project management globally. Through this new PMP® Exam Prep micro-credential, Brock is providing professionals with the preparation, knowledge and recognized training required to pursue the PMP certification while strengthening their leadership and project delivery skills to advance their careers.”
To ensure Brock’s micro-credential meets PMI requirements, the University has become an official PMI Authorized Training Partner. PMI is recognized as the global certifying body for project managers, with nearly 1,000 training partners around the world and 52 in Canada.
The first intake for the PMP Exam Prep begins Monday, March 23 as part of the Brock PCS Spring Term. To celebrate the launch of the micro-credential, Brock PCS is providing learners in the first cohort a free textbook and exam prep materials with their registration.
