There’s still time to take Brock’s Equity Census

Brock University’s annual Equity Census is underway — and there’s still time to participate.

The short, confidential survey will provide an important snapshot of the socio-demographic makeup of the Brock community.

Conducting an Equity Census is just one step towards fulfilling Brock’s commitment to fostering an equitable, inclusive and accessible environment in which everyone can realize their full potential and feel supported in doing so, as identified in Brock’s institutional strategic plan.

This short survey, delivered to Brock University inboxes on Nov. 12, will take only two minutes to complete. Participation helps promote inclusion at Brock by allowing the University to gather more complete data about its people and track progress over time. In future, Brock will track this data at regular and/or ongoing intervals to measure change and build collective accountability.

Please check your Brock email for a link to the Equity Census.

Equity Census data will be used to support:

  • Developing and implementing the Employee Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy.
  • Developing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion efforts to enhance the Brock student experience.
  • Gaining a better perspective of issues faced by Brock community members and identifying areas for improvement across campus.
  • Identifying gaps in representation at all levels of the post-secondary institution.
  • Collecting benchmark data to be used over time to track evolving demographics, inform future progress and offer insights into the makeup of Brock’s students, faculty and staff.

Equity Census data is confidential and information about the collection, use and handling of this personal information can be found on the Equity Census website. All information collected as part of the Equity Census will be handled in accordance with Brock’s Access to Information and Protection of Privacy policy and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act of Ontario.
