Members of the Brock Community participated in a Human Library event on Tuesday, Nov. 18 during International Education Week. During the event, participants were able to learn about cultures from around the world through conversations with "Human Books."A packed schedule of events and activities brought the world to Brock during International Education Week (IEW), which ran from Monday, Nov. 18 to Friday, Nov. 22.
Oorganized by a pan-institutional committee chaired by Brock International, the weeklong celebration highlighted the power of global learning and created opportunities for students, faculty and staff to connect with diverse cultures.
“International Education Week embodies Brock’s commitment, as articulated in our International Strategic Plan, to inspire all members of our community to embrace new and diverse perspectives, and to become agents of change in their own way, working together to build a better future,” said Associate Vice-President, International David Begg.
This year’s schedule included a Study Abroad Fair, opportunities to get a taste of global cuisines at the Night Market and Sample the World Cultural Food Fest, events featuring crafts and games from different countries, information sessions, a Cultural Exchange Café, and a Human Library that allowed participants to engage in one-on-one cultural conversations.
