The Brock LINC hosted a LINC Up Networking Event on Sept. 24, bringing together more than 100 students, faculty, staff and local community members and strengthening connections across Niagara’s innovation ecosystem. The Brock LINC was buzzing as entrepreneurs, researchers and community partners gathered for the LINC Up Networking Event on Sept. 24.
The evening sparked impactful connections across Brock and Niagara’s innovation ecosystems, from startups discussing next steps and researchers exploring new partnerships to students learning about entrepreneurial opportunities.
Brock’s innovation and professional development teams were also on hand to showcase the wide range of supports available to students, researchers and businesses. These included Co-op, Career and Experiential Education, the Cool Climate Oenology and Viticulture Institute, the Brock–Niagara Validation Prototyping and Manufacturing Institute, Professional and Continuing Studies, and the Goodman Group.
Guests also had a chance to engage with external Brock LINC partners, including Innovate Niagara, Niagara College’s Business and Commercialization Innovation Centre, Niagara Falls Innovation Hub, St. Catharines Enterprise Centre, Vineland Research and Innovation Centre, Accel North, Venture Niagara, Mitacs, National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program, and the Ontario Centre of Innovation.
“The LINC Up event provided a forum for me to connect with several impressive companies from the region, to see how OCI’s portfolio of programs could support their growth through investment and grants,” said Michael Jones, Business Development and Commercialization Manager at the Ontario Centre of Innovation.
