Building global connections in India

A group of Brock University representatives recently visited India to deepen its student-centred international partnerships in the region.

Led by Associate Vice-President, International David Begg, the strategic visit took place from Sept. 14 to 24 and included stops in Delhi, Punjab, Ahmedabad and Vadodara.

Begg was joined by Brock South Asia team members Vineet Sharma, Gautam Sharma and Gurtej Kaur for visits to partner offices and direct engagement with families and students.

The visit also featured exclusive Brock University Partner Connect events in Delhi and Ahmedabad, bringing together partners and their respective counselors for open dialogue on market trends, evolving student needs and opportunities for closer collaboration.

“These events were more than just meetings; they were an opportunity to better understand the Indian market and the aspirations of students,” said Begg.

“Beyond ensuring Brock remains visible in a competitive landscape, this trip allowed us to explore current trends, identify challenges and consider how Brock can adapt to the changing priorities of students.”

Beyond the Connect events, Begg and the Brock South Asia team met with students, parents and counsellors to learn more about their aspirations and challenges.

“These conversations reinforced Brock’s commitment to Indian students,” said Vineet Sharma, Senior Relationship Manager, South Asia. “Listening to families helps us better support them with the right programs, scholarships and career pathways.”

The group also visited Chandigarh University to explore student mobility and joint programs and to host seminars where undergraduate aspirants connected with Brock representatives to learn about the University’s unique strengths.
