The Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) and Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) are hosting a range of free food events throughout the Fall Term, from hot meals to grab and go snack bags. The Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) and Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) are teaming up to support their fellow Badgers with a slate of free food events this term.
Offered as part of the Food First Program, the events will provide free meals and snacks on Brock’s main campus and at the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts in downtown St. Catharines.
“Food insecurity is a growing problem for students, which is why the Food First program is so important,” said BUSU President Fiona Seabrook. “Students should be able to focus on their studies without worrying about where their next meal is coming from, and these events not only help meet that need, but also provide a welcoming space where students can connect with one another.”
Students can grab a to-go bag of healthy snacks during Grab and Go Breakfasts every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday outside Union Station in the Student-Alumni Centre from 8:45 a.m. until supplies run out.
Upcoming free food events open to undergraduate and graduate students include:

- Thursday, Oct. 30 — Perogies in Union Station from 7 to 9 p.m.

“We know that academic success cannot be separated from basic needs. Food insecurity is a reality many of our peers face, and it impacts health, focus and overall well-being,” says GSA President Mario Berro (BSc ’23). “That’s why programs like Food First are not just helpful, they are essential. They ensure no graduate student has to choose between putting food on the table and continuing their education.”
