Wellness Day returns with 60th anniversary celebrations, new activities

From group hikes and art sessions to guest speakers and hands-on experiences, Brock University’s 23rd annual Wellness Day will bring employees together for a day focused on health and connection.

Taking place Monday, June 23, the much-loved Brock tradition offers faculty and staff an opportunity to unwind, explore new interests and prioritize well-being through a variety of sessions designed to support both mental and physical health.

Thanks to the Brock community’s support of the 2024 Wellness Day raffle, $5,500 was raised and awarded to four students in recognition of their achievements: third-year Sociology student Jenna Meier, third-year Medical Sciences student Onyekachi Ibekwe, second-year Public Health student Avinder Saini and fourth-year Sport Management student Parker Triano. This year’s event will feature popular on- and off-campus activities along with festivities marking Brock’s 60th anniversary. Hosted in collaboration with the President’s Barbecue, the day will include a Wellness Day Barbecue and 60th Anniversary Social that will allow colleagues to connect over a meal from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Wellness Day ticket registration will open at the end of May through University Tickets. Registration details, including the full event schedule, will be shared soon. Employees are encouraged to speak with their supervisors before registering and to sign up early as popular sessions often fill quickly.

In addition to workshops, activities and guest speakers, the day also includes the annual presentation of the Health, Safety and Wellness (HSW) Champion Award. The award recognizes individuals or departments who demonstrate outstanding commitment to fostering a culture of health, safety and wellness at Brock.

Nominations for the HSW Champion Award are due by Friday, May 17 and can be submitted to [email protected] using the 2025 HSW Champion nomination form. The selection process involves review by the HSW Team, Academic Safety Committee and Joint Health and Safety Committees.

More information about volunteering opportunities, raffle sales to support student awards and this year’s local vendor market will be announced in the coming weeks. To learn more, visit the Wellness Day website or email [email protected]
