Brock University will welcome the nation’s top university wrestlers when it hosts the 2025 Wrestling Canada Lutte U SPORTS Invitational Championships this weekend.
The event — taking place Friday, Feb. 28 to Saturday, March 1 at Canada Games Park — marks the first championship under a new partnership between U SPORTS and Wrestling Canada Lutte (WCL) that aims to enhance collaboration and elevate the competition.
With a dominant history in U SPORTS wrestling, Brock’s teams are primed to compete on home turf. In 2024, the women’s team claimed its 11th national title while the men’s squad secured its ninth consecutive championship.
“We’re thrilled to host this premier event,” said Brock Sports Associate Director Courtney Smith. “Brock’s strong wrestling tradition makes this partnership a perfect fit.”
Tickets for the event are available online.
The tournament will also feature an awards banquet and a Brock Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which takes place on Sunday, March 2 at Amici’s Banquet and Conference Centre.
Continuing in the spirit of celebrating Olympic excellence, this class will include five former student-athletes and coaches who have made outstanding contributions to the Olympic Games in the sport of wrestling. They are:
