Thesis defences — April 1 to April 5

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, April 1 and Friday, April 5.

Master of ​Science in Applied Health Sciences (Health Sciences) thesis defence

Aleeza Malik, a Master of Science in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Improving Lung Cancer Risk Prediction: Integration of Novel Predictors and Modelling Using Machine Learning Random Forest versus the Validated PLCOm2012 Logistic Regression Model” on Friday, April 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. in STH 361.

Master of Science in Applied Health Sciences (Kinesiology) thesis defence

Gokhan Bozyigit, a Master of Science in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Relationships Between Key Performance Indicators Across Four Swimming Strokes in 50 and 100 Metre Distances in Competitive Swimmers” on Friday, April 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. via Microsoft Teams.

Master of Arts in Sociology thesis defence

Zoe Adams, a Master of Arts in Critical Sociology candidate, will defend the thesis “The Socio-Legal Regulation of BDSM in Canada” on Wednesday, April 3 from 10 a.m. to noon in WH 147 and hybrid virtual format.

Master of Arts in Applied Disability Studies thesis defence

Carlos Santos da Silva, a Master of Arts in Applied Disability Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “A Translational Evaluation of the Separate and Combined Effects of Context Fading and an Extinction Cue on Mitigating ABA Renewal” on Thursday, April 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. in virtual format.
