More than 120 Brock student-athletes, faculty and staff gathered at Pond Inlet for the annual Celebration of Academic Excellence Breakfast on Wednesday, Jan. 17.Commemorating academic accomplishments from the 2022-23 academic year, the Brock Badgers proudly acknowledged 261 student-athletes during its annual Celebration of Academic Excellence.
Bestowed during a ceremony in Pond Inlet on the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 17, the Badgers’ Academic Excellence Award recognizes student-athletes who attain an average of 80 per cent or higher within their respective programs of study.
Recipients were presented with a certificate and pin during the annual Celebration of Academic Excellence Breakfast. As student-athletes attain honour roll status in subsequent years, they will receive an additional, distinct pin each year, symbolizing their ongoing academic success.
“We are proud of the academic triumphs of our student-athletes, who have excelled in their studies while proudly representing Brock University in competitive sports,” said Melissa Krist, Executive Director of Brock Sports and Recreation. “This event signifies a momentous occasion as we enthusiastically celebrate our commitment to scholastic distinction.”
In addition to institutional accolades, a total of 125 Badgers qualified as 2022-23 U SPORTS Academic All-Canadians. These are student-athletes who maintain an academic standing of 80 per cent or higher while participating in a U SPORTS-sanctioned sport.
