Thesis defences — Oct. 30 to Nov. 3

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, Oct. 30 and Friday, Nov. 3.

Master of Arts in Geography and Tourism Studies thesis defence  

Anthony Montagano, a Master of Arts in Geography and Tourism Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “Spatial Aspects of Navigating Heritage Sites Using a Digital Interpretive Application” on Monday, Oct. 30, from 3 to 5 p.m. in WH 147.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; David Brown, Supervisor; Amit Birenboim, External Examiner (The Hebrew University of Jerusalem); Atsuko Hashimoto, Graduate Program Director; and Michael Ripmeester and Christopher Fullerton, Committee Members.

Master of Arts in Psychology thesis defence  

Smit Patel, a Master of Arts in Psychology candidate, will defend the thesis “Influence of Head Injury on Episodic Memory, Meta-memory, and Cannabis Use” on Friday, Nov. 3, from 2 to 4 p.m. via Lifesize and in PL 600 F.

The examination committee includes Dawn Zinga, Chair; Dawn Good, Supervisor; Myra Fernandes, External Examiner (University of Waterloo); Michael Busseri, Graduate Program Director; and Karen Campbell and Caitlin Mahy, Committee Members.

Joint PhD in Educational Studies thesis defence

Soheila Shahmohammadi, a Joint PhD in Educational Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “Preservice Teachers’ Perceived Preparedness to Integrate Technology into Teaching of Mathematics:  A Mixed Method Study” on Monday, Oct. 30 from 2 to 5 p.m. in PLZ 600F.

The examination committee includes Brian Roy, Chair; Kamini Jaipal-Jamani, Supervisor; Douglas McDougall, External Examiner (University of Toronto); Danielle Molnar, Internal Examiner; and Joyce Mgombelo and Zuochen Zhang (University of Windsor), Advisory Committee.
