Lunchtime barbecue series kicks off June 1

It’s officially barbecue season at Brock University.

Brock community members are invited to take a break from their daily routine to enjoy music, games and elevated barbecue food from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 1 in Jubilee Court.

“We are always looking for ways to bring folks together around food on campus,” said Malcolm Dales, Director, Dining and Conference Services. “Executive Chef Nick Paulino and team have prepared a great first menu and it is our hope that we continue the series throughout July and August.”

On June 1, Dining Services will be offering bahn mi sausage rolls with cucumber, siracha mayo and cilantro as well as vegan bahn mi sausage rolls on the grill. An entrée with a drink can be purchased for $14, tax included. Attendees will also be able to buy sides, such as ice cream, sorbet and bags of chips. Purchases can be made at the event with cash, debit or credit.

One dollar from each entrée sale will be donated to the Food First Program to help students navigating the complex difficulties of food insecurity. The Food First Program is a partnership between the Brock University Students’ Union, the Graduate Students’ Association and Brock University. Visit the Food First website to learn more about the program.

Updates will be provided on an alternative location if inclement weather causes a disruption. Visit the Dining Services website to learn more about the Summer BBQ Series or contact Dining Services at dining@brocku.ca
