Registration deadline nearing for grad student research events

Graduate students have until Sunday, March 12 to register for two upcoming events that will showcase their research and sharpen their knowledge mobilization skills.

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition and Mapping the New Knowledges (MNK) Graduate Student Conference each offer grad students the opportunity to win cash prizes as they share their work.

3MT competition

Taking place Tuesday, March 28 at noon in Pond Inlet, 3MT gives graduate students three minutes to explain their research with only one slide in a way that captivates judges and the audience.

Cash prizes include $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place, $250 for third place and $250 for People’s Choice Award.

Students can register to participate on the Faculty of Graduate Studies website.

The Brock community is also invited to register to attend in support of graduate student research.

MNK Graduate Student Conference

Held throughout the day Wednesday, April 12, MNK provides students an opportunity to enhance essential conference skills such as presenting and networking while supporting the innovative research being done at Brock.

This year’s event will take place in the Roy and Lois Cairns Health and Bioscience Research Complex and the Plaza building.

Students can register to participate on the Faculty of Graduate Studies website.

The Brock community is also invited to register to attend in support of graduate student research.
