Thesis defences — Dec. 12 to Dec. 16

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place from Monday, Dec. 12 to Friday, Dec. 16.

Master of Science in Computer Science thesis defence

Andrew Pozzuoli, a Master of Science in Computer Science candidate, will defend the thesis “Diversifying Emergent Behaviours with Age-Layered MAP-Elites” on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. in MCH 313.

The examination committee includes Melanie Pilkington, Chair; Brian J. Ross, Supervisor; Robson de Grande, External Examiner (Brock University); and Betty Ombuki-Berman and Michael Winter, Committee Members.

Master of Science in Earth Sciences thesis defence

Alexander Furlan, a Master of Science in Earth Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Improving Deep Exploration with Cost-Effective Geophysical Methods” on Friday, Dec. 16 at 9:30 a.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Cheryl McCormick, Chair; Hernan Ugalde, Supervisor; Karl E. Butler, External Examiner (University of New Brunswick); and Bill Morris and Frank Fueten, Committee Members.
