Tower illumination dates for August

The Schmon Tower’s familiar red glow will give way to an array of colour schemes to mark several occasions taking place in August.

Events in August include:

  • Monday, Aug. 1, blue for National Breastfeeding Week
  • Thursday, Aug. 4, pink for World PVNH Disorder Awareness Day
  • Friday, Aug. 5, red and blue for Canada Games — Brock and Niagara 2022
  • Saturday, Aug. 6, red and blue for Canada Games — Brock and Niagara 2022
  • Sunday, Aug. 7, red and white for Canada Games — Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Monday, Aug. 8, white and green for Canada Games — Saskatchewan
  • Tuesday, Aug. 9, yellow and white for Canada Games — Manitoba
  • Wednesday, Aug. 10, red, blue and white for Canada Games — British Columbia
  • Thursday, Aug. 11, purple, red and white for Canada Games — Yukon
  • Friday, Aug. 12, blue and white for Canada Games — Nova Scotia
  • Saturday, Aug. 13, navy blue, sky blue and white for Canada Games — Northwest Territories
  • Sunday, Aug. 14, red and white for Canada Games — Ontario
  • Monday, Aug. 15, green and red for Canada Games — New Brunswick
  • Tuesday, Aug. 16, red, yellow, royal blue and white for Canada Games — Nunavut
  • Wednesday, Aug. 17, red and blue for Canada Games — Brock and Niagara 2022

The tower is lit externally with 48 powerful LED lights, which offer a full rainbow of colour options.

Members of the community can request the tower be illuminated in a particular colour for holidays and non-commercial special events.
