Thesis defences April 11 to April 14

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, April 11 and Thursday, April 14.

PhD in Mathematics and Science thesis defence

Michael Parcey, a PhD in Mathematics and Science candidate, will defend the thesis “The Role of CRISPR-Mediated Phage Resistance in the Development of Phage-Based Biocontrol for Erwinia amylovora” on Tuesday, April 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee members are Brian Roy, Chair; Alan Castle and Antonet Svircev, Supervisors; Sylvain Moineau, External Examiner (Université Laval, Québec); Panagiota (Nota) Klentrou, Internal Examiner; and Ping Liang and Jonathan Griffiths, Advisory Committee.

Master of Science in Management (Organization Studies Stream) thesis defence 

Owen C. Angus-Yamada, a Master of Science in Management candidate, will defend the thesis “Objects in your rear may be less important than they appear: How objects in candidates’ video interview backgrounds influence interviewers’ perceptions of fit and hiring recommendations” on Tuesday, April 12, at 1 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Brent Faught, Chair; Derek Chapman, External Examiner (University of Calgary); Adam Kanar, Supervisor; and Dirk DeClercq and Kai-Yu Wang, Committee Members.
