Reminder: Land-based therapy event to take place Thursday

Note: This event has been cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.

A wellness-themed event on Thursday, March 24 will focus on land-based therapy from the perspective on an Indigenous Elder.

Taking place at noon, the two-hour conversation is presented by the President’s Advisory Committee on Human Rights, Equity and Decolonization (PACHRED), and the Decolonization subcommittee.

The conversation will welcome Elder Aabiidaasmosede Peter Beaucage from Nipissing First Nation for a talk about the many lessons that can be learned from interacting with the land, such as how to appropriately share knowledge to ensure resource conservation and sustainability.

A live stream of the discussion, which will be available to everyone, can be accessed at the time of the event via the Microsoft Teams streaming platform.

Questions about the event can be sent to Brock’s Director of Aboriginal Student Services Cindy Biancaniello at cbiancaniello@brocku.ca

Anyone interested in participating is asked to complete the online registration form or to contact Rox Chwaluk, Brock’s Co-ordinator of Off-Campus Student Engagement, at rchwaluk@brocku.ca
