Launch event to be held for interested Canada Games volunteers

As Brock University prepares to welcome the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games to its main campus this summer, a launch event is being planned for volunteers.

Anyone who has signed up or is interested in signing up as a volunteer is encouraged to visit the Goodman Atrium between 2:30 and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30 to connect with other Games volunteers and learn more about potential opportunities.

With more than 4,000 volunteers needed for the Games, those helping out can expect to participate in a variety of roles, including sport operations, transportation, ticketing, food service, uniform distribution, merchandise sales and more.

Remarks at the launch event will begin at 3 p.m., when attendees will hear from Niagara 2022 Canada Games CEO Barry Wright; Senior Manager, People and Culture Kelly Vlaar,; and Co-ordinator, Volunteer Services Julia Medves.

Please note that all attendees will need to show proof of vaccination, sign in with their event passport from ExperienceBU and wear a mask in accordance with COVID event protocols.

Anyone wishing to RSVP or learn more is invited to visit the event’s ExperienceBU page.
