Brock University to partner with YWCA in support of local women, families

Brock University and the YWCA Niagara Region are coming together with the goal of impacting the lives of local women and families.

The two organizations will formalize their partnership by introducing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during a virtual event on Friday, March 4 at 1 p.m.

The YWCA provides emergency shelter, food and assistance to women and their families living in poverty. Committed to social change and creating an equitable community, the organization offers transitional housing and skills development programs to help women regain their independence and to break the cycle of poverty.

In addition to its emergency housing services, the YWCA also operates a Safer House for survivors of human trafficking and a 15-unit Home for Good program, which provides long-term supportive housing to Niagara’s most vulnerable.

During the virtual event, leaders from Brock and the YWCA will discuss important opportunities for collaboration through the MOU and ways this partnership will support the Niagara community’s well-being and vitality.

The event will be livestreamed via Lifesize. To RSVP, fill out the online registration form. A link to join the event will be provided upon registration.
