Free fitness classes for students during Try-It Week

Brock Recreation is encouraging students to give its fitness and wellness classes a try.

Students will have access to a variety of free classes as Fitness Try-It Week gets underway from Monday, Sept. 13 to Friday, Sept. 17 at the Walker Sports Complex.

Led by certified personal trainers, classes consist of Learn to Lift, Small Group Training, Outdoor Pop Pilates and Outdoor Yoga Flow.

Students are required to pre-register on the Brock Rec booking system, as space in each class is limited.

Zone Fitness Manager Amanda Gregory said Try-It Week is the perfect guide for those who don’t know where to start in the gym.

“The Learn to Lift and Small Group Training programs provide students with the knowledge of proper form and resources to increase their comfort in the gym,” Gregory said. “Students don’t have to do anything more than show up ready to work, as the personal trainers have planned their programs for them.”

Classes such as Learn to Lift and Small Group Training occur in The Zone, while the Pop Pilates and Yoga Flow classes are held in the Walker Sports Complex courtyard.

Students can pre-register for the classes online here.
