Registration open for virtual Brock Homecoming

Brock University’s Homecoming will take place from Wednesday, Sept. 22 to Sunday, Sept. 26 entirely online.

Registration is now open for the more than 20 free and paid events planned, with nearly all of them led by Brock graduates, faculty or staff.

Events offer opportunities for social interaction, education and development, as well as health and wellness activities. All Brock alumni, staff and faculty are invited to attend.

Many sessions are designed for participants of all ages, including family-friendly events such as a superhero-themed workshop; cooking and baking classes; painting; guided yoga; and phone photography. Finance-focused seminars include banking trends, cryptocurrency and a first-time home buyers panel. A researcher’s corner seminar will feature three of Brock’s researchers who will discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on youth mental health; the behaviour, ecology and conservation of bees in Niagara; research with NASA and the Mars 2020 rover mission; and the ever-popular wine tasting seminar.

“With Homecoming being virtual this year, alumni from around the world will be able to participate from the comfort of their homes,” said Terry Cockerline, Director, Alumni Relations. “They can try out new events like a cocktail making class or a behind-the-scenes museum artifacts tour, or they can enjoy Homecoming classics like live campus tours and reunion activities.”

The first 150 people to register for Brock’s 2021 Homecoming will receive a Brock-branded mug.

While the Steel Blade Classic hockey game remains on pause for the time being, alumni can revisit highlights and learn about the history of the decades-old tradition on the Steel Blade tribute webpage.

This year’s Homecoming will recognize several milestone reunions for the Classes of 1971, 1996, 2011, 2016 and 2020, who will be celebrating their 50-, 25-, 10-, five- and one-year anniversary reunions, respectively. Graduates celebrating their 25- and 50-year anniversaries will be inducted into the Cameo Club and can register to receive a silver or gold cameo pin.

The first 150 people to register for Brock Homecoming will receive a Brock-branded mug. Participants who register by Wednesday, Sept. 1 can save $5 by using the discount code ‘Brockualumni’.
