Summit aims to help students thrive as leaders

An upcoming student-led event will explore innovation, inclusion and excelling as a leader in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Taking place Friday, March 26 and Saturday, March 27, the virtual Brock Student Leadership Summit will focus on the theme of Leadership in a Changing Society.

With synchronous and asynchronous sessions on offer, as well as a keynote address on Friday evening, the summit will allow delegates to learn different aspects of leadership through student-led panels and workshops.

Along with discussing leadership as a whole, sessions will also touch on timely topics, such as inclusion and diversity in the digital age, that relate directly to the lives of students as they continue to navigate ongoing physical distancing regulations.

Summit planning committee member Grace Chretien, a third-year Concurrent Education student, said the event is intended to benefit students throughout their educational journey and beyond.

“It is important for students to become leaders because it allows them to make positive change in their communities, whether at Brock or elsewhere, and gives them an opportunity to gain and practise important skills that will serve them in the future,” she said.
