Tennis talk continues webinar series

A Brock PhD student is serving up a talk on his love of tennis.

Gianluca Agostinelli will lead a virtual webinar Wednesday, Dec. 2, discussing his previous career as a top-ranked junior tennis player in Canada.

Held from 2 to 3:15 p.m., the webinar was made possible through a partnership between the Italian Studies program within Brock’s Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures (MLLC) and the Centre for Sport Capacity, as well as sponsorship from the Brock Canada Games Teaching and Learning Grant.

Agostinelli is an Education Instructor and Practicum Advisor at Brock, where he is completing a PhD in Educational Studies. He is also a Professor of English and Communications at Niagara College, Occasional and Continuing Education Teacher with the Niagara Catholic District School Board, and Instructional Assistant at McMaster University.

He will speak to students of Italian Canadian Studies, as well as the Brock community, about the sport industry in Canada in anticipation of the 2022 Canada Games in Niagara. Having grown up in an Italian family of athletes, Agostinelli will focus on his time as a former member of Team Ontario and Tennis Canada, as well as his return to tennis at Brock.
