Goodman event to focus on inventory optimization

When it comes to inventory management and processing, increasing efficiency and saving money are often top of mind for businesses.

This week’s Goodman Luncheon Speaker Series event will focus on inventory optimization methods.

Yossiri Adulyasak, Associate Professor in the Department of Logistics and Operations Management at HEC Montreal, will present the findings of his co-authored paper “Material Requirements Planning Under Demand Uncertainty Using Stochastic Optimization.”

The presentation, titled “Re-thinking safety stock optimization: an integrated prescriptive analytics approach,” will discuss the use of the stochastic optimization approach, which utilizes random variables to assist with better inventory logistics.

Adulyasak is the Canada Research Chair in Supply Chain Analytics. He leads research and industrial initiatives with large Canadian firms that integrate predictive and prescriptive analytics in various supply chain applications in manufacturing, retail, omni-channel, transportation and risk management.

The webinar will take place Friday, Oct. 23 from noon to 2:30 p.m. via Lifesize.

The Goodman School of Business Luncheon Speaker Series provides Goodman faculty, staff and students with an informal opportunity to listen to and discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with international business colleagues.
