PACHRED membership nominees open until March 20

The President’s Advisory Committee for Human Rights, Equity and Decolonization (PACHRED) Nominations Committee is seeking nominees for membership beginning in September 2020.

Nominations will be accepted until Friday, March 20, 2020 at 6 p.m. Interested faculty, staff and students at Brock University can find details about the application process and committee requirements here.

Nominations Co-chairs Margot Francis and Shannon Moore will convene the Nominations Committee and select members in late March/early April. PACHRED meets four times during the school year and works closely with working groups to prioritize the key human rights, equity and decolonization issues at Brock.

The working groups (including Anti-Ableism and Mental Health, Anti-Racism Task Force, Decolonization, Employment Equity, LGBTQ+ and Sexual Violence Prevention) address specific concerns for the Brock community and create space for dialogue about those concerns. Reporting to the President, PACHRED identifies issues, provides a forum for discussion and makes recommendations for action.

“PACHRED is a community of students, staff and faculty that share a commitment to dialogue, education and action focussed on advancing human rights, equity and decolonization,” said Moore. “The space created fosters courageous dialogues about social justice.”

PACHRED is comprised of representatives from campus groups and individual members, with meetings open to the Brock community. New members selected will be invited to an orientation meeting.
