Director of Health, Safety and Wellness gives back to alma mater

Leigh Harold (BSc ’96) knew the timing was right when her alma mater and workplace called and asked if she was willing and able to donate.

When Annual Giving called Harold, who works as the Director of Health, Safety and Wellness six years ago, she answered without hesitation.

“When my kids were growing up, we had different priorities and gave our time and gifts to other organizations and charities,” she said. “Now that my kids are a little older and I am working here at Brock University where I received my degree, and it’s only fitting that I give back.”

Through payroll deductions, Harold is able to make a difference in the student experience at Brock by giving back to an area that is meaningful to her and her connection to the University.

“Payroll deduction makes it so easy to make a difference,” said Harold.

The generosity of donors aids in making the coveted Brock experience possible for students who travel from near and far to attend the University. From athletic programs to study facilities, every donor has the option to designate an area where they would like to make a difference.

Participating in the 2020 Faculty and Staff campaign fund will allow the Brock community to give back and provide vital resources to the students, programs and departments it serves. Donors will be celebrated in exciting new ways such as monthly draws, prizes and creative ways to participate.

“Every gift, in any amount, helps make a difference,” said Matthew Mcrae, Manager, Annual Giving.

More information will become available in the next few weeks about ways that interested donors can help make a difference in the life of a student.
