Department of Political Science presents panel on Civic Identity in Liberal Democracy

An upcoming panel discussion will examine the intricacies of civic identity, including what it means to be a citizen in a liberal democracy, how much and what sort of political engagement should be expected of citizens. The panel will also look at how economic disparities, demographic profiles, multiculturalism and intersectionality affect understandings of civic identity.

Livianna Tossutti, Associate Professor in Brock’s Department of Political Science, will be joined by Triadafilos Triadafilopoulos from the University of Toronto, Scarborough and the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy, and Shaun Young, Manager of Research Services and Partnerships at the University of Toronto, in a discussion moderated by Brock Political Science Professor Leah Bradshaw.

The panel presentation takes place Thursday, Nov. 21 from 3 to 4 p.m. in STH 215. Everyone is welcome to attend.
