Editor-in-Chief to speak about writing for top journals

For researchers, getting work published in a top journal can be a career highlight. This week, Goodman’s Luncheon Speaker Series looks to demystify the process of getting work accepted to these publications.

On Friday, Sept. 20, Naveen Donthu, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Business Research will present on his experiences with a talk titled “Getting your research article published in high-quality and high-impact journals.”

Donthu has been writing for the Journal of Business Research for more than three years, while also lecturing at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University. He has more than 90 publications in journals such as Marketing Science, Management Science, Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Advertising Research and Journal of Retailing. Donthu’s extensive experience with writing and publishing for top journals has allowed him to pinpoint challenges in the industry and develop lessons based on his own involvement.

The Goodman speaker series provides an informal opportunity to listen to and discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with international business colleagues.

Donthu’s presentation will run from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in Goodman School of Business room 310. Goodman faculty, staff and graduate students are invited to attend.

Brock community members interested in attending the talk can also email Jennifer Brisson at jbrisson@brocku.ca to reserve a seat.
