Walk for Alzheimer’s returns to Brock Sunday

Members of the Brock community are invited to make memories matter by participating in Niagara’s annual Walk for Alzheimer’s on Sunday, Jan. 27.

Starting in the University’s Ian Beddis Gymnasium and facilitated by student volunteers from the Brock Leaders Citizenship Society, the one-kilometre indoor walk will raise funds for programs and services offered through the Alzheimer Society of Niagara.

Participants of all ages and ability levels will visit a series of stations along the route that provide health-related information and product samples for maintaining a healthy brain through diet, social activities and exercise.

There will also be a health fair in the gymnasium to deliver information on brain health while also offering family-friendly activities such as musical entertainment, visits with Fluffy the clown and the new Babysitting Angels Kids Zone.

The Niagara walk is one of more than 300 being staged across the country in support of the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Ian Beddis Gymnasium, followed by the indoor walk at 11.

More information and registration details can be found on the Walk for Alzheimer’s Niagara Region 2019 website.
