Suspect arrested after campus theft

Niagara Regional Police made an arrest early Wednesday morning (Nov. 21) in connection with a theft from administrative offices at Brock.

On Tuesday evening, Brock Security Services issued security camera images of a man who they said was a suspect, after an employee’s wallet was taken from a work station on Tuesday while the employee was briefly away from the desk. The wallet was out of sight and behind the desk at the time of the incident.

Police, who had already been investigating, reportedly arrested a suspect sometime after 2 a.m. It is not known if there are other incidents involved in the investigation.

Students and staff are being warned to avoid leaving valuables unattended. Security staff say it is common in most jurisdictions for theft rates to increase in the weeks leading up to Christmas season, and people should remember to ensure their valuables are secure.
