In response to the provincial government’s directive requiring each Ontario university to put in place a free speech policy by Jan. 1, 2019, the President has established an Advisory Committee on Speech to provide advice regarding Brock’s policy and implementation.

The committee, which is chaired by Professor Scott Henderson and includes faculty, staff, students and senior administrators, has worked with University advisors (including Human Rights and Equity, Campus Security services and legal counsel) to develop a preliminary draft policy. Members of the University community are invited to provide feedback on the policy through the feedback form or by email to policy@brocku.ca

Due to the provincial government’s deadline, all feedback must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday Nov. 5. The Committee will consider all feedback received by that date before finalizing its report to the President.
