Students urged not to attend clipboard meetings

Brock Campus Security is continuing to investigate recent incidents regarding clipboard soliciting at the University by an unknown company recruiting for summer jobs.

Sign-up sheets have been reported in Brock classrooms that promote summer job opportunities in exchange for personal information. The sheets, which do not identify the employer, indicate participants will be well paid for their time, but provide no other details.

As a safety precaution, Campus Security is recommending that students do not attend any meetings with this company should they be contacted.

Students who have been contacted and have an on-campus meeting set up are asked to reach out to Campus Security with the meeting details.

Anyone who witnesses suspicious soliciting or activity on campus is also advised to immediately report the incident to Campus Security.

Campus Security can be reached in person at the Kenmore Centre, via email at security@brocku.ca, by the Brock Mobile Safety App or by phone at 905-688-5550 x4300.

Brock’s Career Education has created an informative document that outlines different types of fraudulent job postings and red flags students can watch out for.

Students who have questions or concerns regarding job postings and their legitimacy are encouraged to contact Career Education at careerzone@brocku.ca
