Dates set for mosquito larvicide control

With mosquito season comes the threat of West Nile virus.

From June 27 to Sept. 21, Brock University will conduct a larviciding program under the authority of Niagara Region and City of Hamilton medical officers of health to control larval mosquitos and prevent the possible spread of West Nile virus.

The larvicide Mosquiron will be applied by direct hand application into catch basins at Brock University-owned and leased properties in Niagara and Hamilton.

All larvicides will be applied by licensed applicators through the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change.
