President’s Golf Classic raises funds for Brock student- athletes

Brock University student-athletes will benefit from the $75,000 raised Monday, May 28 during the 16th annual President’s Golf Classic.

More than 140 golfers descended on St. Catharines Golf and Country Club to show their support of the 900 student-athletes at Brock University. The tournament, originally founded by former President David Atkinson and the late David S. Howes, raises funds that have a direct impact on the lives of students who are balancing athletics with academics.

“With countless hours spent studying, attending classes, practising, travelling, playing and working out, there truly isn’t enough time to work a job,” says Clint Windsor, men’s hockey goalie and Brock Sports Male Athlete of the Year. “Receiving a President’s Golf Classic scholarship relieves a lot of stress from athletes like myself. This scholarship is very important as it allows us to put our focus on two main things: our school work and our sport.”
