Faculty and grad students sought for research ethics boards

Brock’s Bioscience Research Ethics Board and Social Science Research Ethics Board are recruiting faculty and graduate student members.

These dynamic volunteer boards provide a unique opportunity to gain insight into human research ethics. The research ethics boards are responsible for reviewing and assessing protocols for research involving human participants within the University or under University auspices. They also ensure that the physical safety and personal integrity of human participants in research are respected and protected by interpreting and applying the Tri-Council Policy Statement (TCPS2) and relevant legislation.

They are currently seeking:

  • Faculty members to serve a two-year term.
  • Master’s or doctorate level students to serve a one- or two-year term.

Interested faculty member applicants should submit:

  • a current curriculum vitae (CV)
  • a copy of their TCPS2 CORE Tutorial

Interested graduate student applicants should submit:

  • a current CV
  • a written academic reference attesting to the student’s ability to handle the extra work load
  • a cover letter outlining their research interests and why they are interested in joining the Bioscience Research Ethics Board or the Social Science Research Ethics Board
  • a copy of their TCPS2 CORE Tutorial

Completed applications should be emailed to reb@brocku.ca by Friday, July 13.
