Goodman lunch talk cancelled

NOTE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, Friday’s Goodman School of Business Luncheon Speaker Series has been cancelled.

Employee expectations and performance will be at the centre of the upcoming talk held as part of the Goodman School of Business Luncheon Speaker Series.

Theresa Libby, Ernst & Young Professor of Accounting at University of Central Florida, will visit Brock Friday, March 23 to present her research.

Theresa Libby, Ernst & Young Professor of Accounting at University of Central Florida, will visit Brock Friday, March 23 to present her research on the subject. She will discuss he research paper titled, “The impact of superior-subordinate identity and discretionary ex post adjustment on subordinate expectancy and performance,” which focuses on the superior-subordinate relationship in the context of job performance.

The paper explores how changing a performance goal at the end of an evaluation period as a result of an uncontrolled negative event can affect performance, as well as how the superior-subordinate relationship can contribute to or offset the effect.

In its 12th year, Goodman’s Luncheon Speaker Series provides an informal and engaging opportunity to listen and discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with colleagues internationally.

The event is being held in Taro 203 Friday, March 23 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Space is limited. Goodman faculty, staff and graduate students are invited to attend. Brock community members wishing to attend can email Jennifer Brisson at jbrisson@brocku.ca to reserve a seat.
