Heating adjustments being made on campus

With fall in full swing, Brock University Facilities Management trades staff are busy preparing the main campus heating systems for the arrival of cooler temperatures.

Due to the type of building heating and cooling systems used on campus, many buildings are not capable of heating and cooling during the same cycle.

As the typical fall season daily cycles of low nighttime temperatures and warmer daytime temperatures get underway, some areas on the main campus may experience temperature fluctuations, whether cooler or warmer than normal, during regular office hours.

Facilities Management staff will continue make the buildings as comfortable as possible by bringing in warm, fresh air during the day into the areas until full daytime heating is required.

If any heating or cooling issues are experienced, refrain from attempting to moderate the temperature by making radical adjustments to the thermostats, as this may have a detrimental effect.

If an area is experiencing extreme or ongoing temperature issues, notify Facilities Management at ext. 3717 or facilitiesmanagement@brocku.ca or contact David McArthur, Interim Director, Maintenance and Utilities at dmcarthur@brocku.ca so the situation may be investigated.
