The following is a list of thesis defences taking place at Brock from Oct. 2 to 6.
All are open for the University community to attend.
Master of Science thesis defence
Illya Bakurov, a candidate in the Department of Computer Science, will present his Master of Science thesis defence on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 9 a.m. in Plaza 600F.
His thesis is titled Non-photorealistic Rendering with Cartesian Genetic Programming using Graphic Processing Units.
His examination committee members are Dr. Michael Bidochka, Chair; Dr. Penousal Machado, External Examiner (University of Coimbra); Dr. Brian Ross, Supervisor; Dr. Beatrice Ombuki-Berman and Dr. Ke Qiu, Committee Members.
Master of Science thesis defence
Yaroslava Girilshena, a candidate in the Department of Computer Science, will present her Master of Science thesis defence by video conference on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 9 a.m. in Plaza 600F.
Her thesis is titled Complete computational sequence characterization of mobile element variations in the human genome using meta-personal genome data.

Interdisciplinary Humanities dissertation defence
Malcolm Matthews, a candidate in the PhD Program in Interdisciplinary Humanities, will present his PhD dissertation defence on Thursday, Oct. 5, from 2 to 5 p.m. in Welch Hall 147.
His dissertation is titled The Rhetoric of Autism: A Posthuman Personification of Masculinity in Crisis (from Rain Man to Mr. Robot).
