Partial access restored to Schmon Tower lobby elevators

A new passageway has restored pedestrian access between the Matheson Learning Commons and the Schmon Tower’s lobby elevators, during business hours.

While construction will continue to indefinitely shut down the Tower forecourt area, people travelling to all administrative floors of the Tower can now access the lobby (200-level) elevators from the west side of the lobby during hours when the Learning Commons is open.

When the Learning Commons is closed, access to the Tower’s administrative floors will still be available at the 100 (basement) level on a 24-hour basis.

While daily hours vary, the Learning Commons— which is part of the James. A Gibson Library — is generally open from early mornings until late evenings. See the schedule at brocku.ca/library/use/hours/.

Access for lobby elevators from the Chown Complex (Tim Hortons) side of the Tower is expected to be available within a week.

Washrooms across from the elevators on the lobby level are closed due to the construction.

Anyone needing help in wayfinding can go to or contact the Welcome Desk at the Brock Card Office 688-5550 INFO (x4636). Persons with accessibility concerns related to the construction work can contact Chris Lytle at clytle@brocku.ca or 905-688-5550 x5454.
