Open house aims to gather feedback on Brock’s facility needs, priorities

The Brock community is invited to share its thoughts on the University’s future facility needs and priorities.

A public open house will be held Thursday, Oct. 5 to solicit feedback on the Brock Facility Needs and Priorities Study (FNPS). Held on the south end of Market Hall from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the event will allow people to learn more about and share their thoughts on the University’s emerging plan.

Members of the consultant team responsible for the study will be on hand to answer questions and receive feedback.

The study is intended to provide Brock with direction for space planning and facility investment for the next 10 years.

Together with the Campus Plan, the FNPS establishes a framework to review and confirm current and future facility needs and priorities, and provides a guide on how to assign, develop and redevelop Brock’s buildings.

It does this by evaluating space use and considering long-range development strategies, opportunities and emerging challenges on the campus.

The document provides recommendations on which space types are most in demand and should be expanded, where new investment can achieve multiple objectives, and where new construction or retrofits are warranted. It also highlights the right places to build community to enhance the university experience for which Brock is well known.

The latest study will update the 2006 document the University was previously guided by.
