Farmers Market cancelled due to cycling event

Brock’s Farmers Market has been cancelled for this week (Thursday 17 Aug.), but expect Jubilee Court to still be abuzz with activity.

More than 400 people will instead be taking over the space as part of Tour for Kids, a three-day cycling event that raises funds to support children living with and who have overcome cancer.

Cyclists will be staying, dining and participating in activities on campus from Thursday, Aug. 17 to Sunday, Aug. 20.

This is the first time the event, now in its 14th year, has been held in Niagara.

As a result of the influx of visitors to campus, M Lot will be unavailable for parking from 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 20. Drivers who usually park in M Lot can instead park in Zone 1.

Tour for Kids will be hosting an artisans market on Friday, Aug. 18 from 2 to 8 p.m. in Jubilee Court — or DeCew Dining Hall in the event of rain. All are welcome to attend.

The Farmers Market will return to the green space Aug. 24 in conjunction with the Opening of Term Celebration.
