Jevon Balfour is one of eight wrestlers from Brock University headed to either the junior or senior world championships this month.The Brock University wrestling team has eight wrestlers competing on the world stage at the Junior World Championships in Finland Aug. 1 to 6 and at the Senior World Championships in Paris Aug. 21-26.
Competing at the Junior World Championships are the Badgers Chris McIsaac (61kg), Ty Bridgwater (74kg) and Hannah Taylor (55kg).
At the Senior World Championships, representing Canada are Brock’s Jessica MacDonald (53kg), Michelle Fazzari (58kg), Diana Weicker (55kg), Olivia Di Bacco (69kg), Jevon Balfour (74kg), McIsaac (61kg) and former Brock wrestler and alumni Jasmine Mian (48kg).
The Brock wrestling program, one of the most decorated programs in Canadian university sport history, has captured 53 titles in its history and continues to produce Canadian National team athletes each year.
