Pride flag-raising ceremony to be held on campus

The rainbow banner is going up at Brock, as staff, students and the public are invited to a Pride flag-raising ceremony on Wednesday, June 28 at 1:30 pm.

Organized by the Brock Office of Human Rights and Equity, the event will involve participation or attendance by members of CUPE 4207, Pride Niagara and members of the Brock student and employee community.

The event will be held at the University’s flag terrace in front of the Sir Isaac Brock statue near the Schmon Tower.

June is Pride Month, and the flag-raising ceremony comes a week after the Office of Human Rights and Equity sent a ‘Gender Designations Memo’ to the Brock community that discusses how to sustain a culture that is inclusive and non-discriminatory.
