Mental Health Week barbecue moved indoors

With rainy weather in the forecast, the decision has been made to move Brock’s Mental Health Week barbecue, and possibly the related Wellness Walk, indoors.

The events are set to close a week of activities held on campus to mark Mental Health Week.

Anyone wishing to participate in the Wellness Walk is asked to meet in the lobby of Schmon Tower on Friday, May 5 at 11:15 a.m.

It will be decided on the day of the walk whether participants will stroll outside or indoors around campus.

The fundraising barbecue, which supports the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Niagara chapter, will take place from 11:45 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Market Hall.

The barbecue will include your choice of hamburger, hotdog or veggie burger, served with kettle chips and pop or water for $10. The combo includes a $3 donation to CMHA Niagara to help enhance local resources. Additional donations are also welcome.

People are asked to wear green on Friday in support of mental health awareness.
