Smash-a-car event coming to Brock

Students and staff at Brock are being invited to take a swing against impaired driving.

A Charity Car Smash will be held Wednesday, March 15 and Thursday, March 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the field in front of Schmon Tower.

Organized by Student Life and Community Experience, the event will serve as an awareness and fundraising campaign against impaired driving in advance of St. Patrick’s Day on March 17. It’s a collaboration between SLCE, the Brock University Students’ Union, BADD and Advocacy and MADD Canada.

The vehicle to be smashed is being donated by Jamie Lundy of JJL Mobile Auto Parts, who also donates vehicles to fire departments in Niagara to support their training efforts.

Anyone interested in taking part can make a donation and sign a waiver where the car will be located in Schmon Tower field.
