It’s known as the Internet of Things. The constantly-growing network of connected home technology such as smart televisions, thermostats, door locks and lighting have become the latest target for hackers.

Brock IT Services has launched a new cyber security campaign to inform the community to be aware of this latest threat to online security.

Some tips from ITS include:

• Be aware of which devices are connected to your home network
• Minimize unnecessary exposure to the Internet
• Replace default passwords with unique, strong passwords for each device — including your wireless router
• Keep devices up to date
