Brock prof to speak at Big Freeze event

Brock University Earth Sciences Professor Francine McCarthy will be putting mastodons and their diet under the microscope during an upcoming presentation.

McCarthy will be a guest speaker at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington on Feb. 19 as part of the Big Freeze exhibit.

Her talk, entitled Where’s Dinner?, will examine the extinction of mastodons in response to postglacial vegetation change.

McCarthy’s presentation will begin at 1 p.m.

The Big Freeze exhibit runs until April 17 and includes a series of speakers on a variety of topics. For more information, visit the Royal Botanical Gardens website.
