Friends and acquaintances of Marilyn Cottrell are invited to a retirement party on Friday Jan. 13 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Alphies Trough.

Cottrell, a popular lecturer in the Department of Economics for many years, officially began retirement on Dec. 31, 2016, capping a career in which she was recognized on numerous occasions by colleagues and students. Her list of significant awards includes the Brock University Award for Distinguished Teaching (2014), the Faculty of Social Sciences Award for Excellence in Teaching (2013), the inaugural BUSU Teaching Excellence Award (2007) and others.
