Varsity swimmers from China to compete at Brock

The Brock University Badgers varsity swim team will host 19 varsity swimmers from China when they visit Niagara from Friday to Sunday.

The Chinese swimmers come from three different universities: The Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Beijing University and Southeast University. The delegation of 32 also includes the Director of University swimming in China, as well as senior athletics staff from all three schools.

The group arrives in Canada on Thursday before joining the Badger varsity swim team for a combined training session in the Brock pool on Friday from 2-4 p.m. The training session will end with a shared meal with the two squads.

On Sunday, the Chinese swimmers return to the Brock University pool to compete in an invitational varsity swimming competition hosted by the Badgers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Racing with the Badgers and the Chinese swimmers that day will be varsity teams from Guelph, Ottawa, Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier. Admission is free and guests are welcome to attend.

After the competition all the participating teams are joining up at the Sheraton Four Points for another shared meal.
